Atlas Public Policy is looking for a highly qualified Summer Fellow to join our exciting policy tech firm for the summer of 2026. A qualified person must be sharp, ambitious, passionate, and capable of adapting to the evolving demands at Atlas. Previous interns at Atlas have published reports, testified to state legislatures, and participated in policy roundtables. This position is based in Washington, DC and staff in DC follow a hybrid work model.

The Work
- Contribute directly to one or more projects selected based on the Summer Fellow’s skillset and the immediate needs of Atlas.
- Support original research and analyses on electric transportation, building decarbonization, and other areas of climate policy.
- Support the writing of issue briefs, research reports, online data stories, and weekly digests using original or synthesis research.
- Assist with data collection and validation for Atlas’s products, such as EV Hub, Buildings Hub, EV Jobs Hub, and Climate Program Portal.
- Follow important developments in the electric vehicle, buildings, and climate policy space to contribute to ongoing work and enhance staff knowledge.
- Pitch in at all levels to assist staff as needed on multiple projects concurrently.
Desired Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Master’s degree or 1-2 years of relevant professional experience related to energy and/or climate policy;
- Undergraduate degree in public policy, history, STEM, economics, social sciences, or related field;
- Passionate writers preferred;
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills;
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills;
- Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis;
- Comfort with Microsoft 365 products;
- Strong interest in realizing Atlas’s mission;
- Ambitious, self-directed, but knows when to pause and seek assistance; and
- U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or other U.S. work authorization (please specify details in your application. Atlas does not offer sponsorship for permanent residency).
