Atlas Public Policy is looking for an experienced Front-End Engineer to join our exciting policy tech firm. For a decade, Atlas Public Policy has equipped businesses and policymakers with the tools and insights they need to make strategic, impactful decisions that are pragmatic and serve the public interest. We build analytical tools and dashboards using powerful, accessible technology, and offer expert advisory services to tackle a wide range of pressing and emerging issues.
A qualified person must be sharp, ambitious, passionate, and capable of adapting to the evolving demands at Atlas. This position will be based in Washington, DC. Staff in Washington, DC currently follow a hybrid work model with three days in the office and two days remote.

The Work
- Develop web applications using the React and Flask frameworks.
- Design web applications, websites, and Microsoft Power BI dashboards using Figma.
- Conduct client-facing interactions such as requirements gathering sessions, design workshops, and product demos.
- Build and maintain Atlas product websites developed in WordPress.
- Design and build intuitive, data-rich dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, such like Hamilton, EV Hub, and Buildings Hub, for a broad set of audiences with a focus on user experience.
- Assist in maintaining existing technical infrastructure through tasks like proactive monitoring, debugging website and dashboard related failures, and updating technical documentation.
Desired Qualifications
- At least four years of work experience in front-end web development.
- At least two years of experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, etc.
- At least two years of experience in user-experience design, including requirements gathering and building wireframes.
- At least two years of experience in client engagement.
- At least one year of experience in WordPress development, including contributing to custom plugins built in PHP.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization/dashboarding software (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or Qlik).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar.
- Strong interest in developing data-driven visualizations and tools.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
- Ambitious, self-directed, but knows when to pause and seek assistance.

Compensation:
- Annual salary of $90,000 – $110,000
- Expected 10% of salary contributed to a pre-tax retirement account
- Annual profit-sharing bonus between estimated 5% and 25%, based on employee and company performance
