Atlas Public Policy is looking for a highly qualified Policy Associate to join our exciting policy tech firm. Atlas equips businesses and policymakers to make strategic, informed decisions that serve the public interest. We build analytical tools and dashboards using powerful, accessible technology, and offer expert advisory and convening services to tackle the pressing issues of the day. Our current areas of focus are electric transportation, building decarbonization, clean energy manufacturing, disinformation, water infrastructure, and other aspects of climate policy.

A qualified person must be sharp, ambitious, passionate, and capable of adapting to the evolving demands at Atlas. This position is based in Washington, DC and staff in DC follow a hybrid work model.

The Work

  • Support original research and analysis on electric transportation, clean manufacturing, and other areas of climate policy.
  • Lead day-to-day maintenance of one or more of Atlas’s products including user management and answering questions about data, invoicing, or the product in general.
  • Assist in the collection, management, and analysis of data across a variety of Atlas’s projects and products.
  • Draft regular newsletters and articles for a wide audience.
  • Provide program support on client engagements to Atlas’s policy and data teams.
  • Participate in and present at meetings with clients and other organizations actively working with Atlas.

Desired Qualifications

  • For recent graduates, undergraduate degree in a quantitative or analytical area preferred; such as public policy, political science, STEM, economics, or related field;
  • One year of work experience in a role with a strong focus on program and information management, with additional consideration given for experience in energy, transportation electrification, and/or climate policy; or master’s degree in related field;
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills;
  • Competence in managing information and data in Excel and SharePoint;
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills;
  • Strong ability to think critically and solve problems;
  • Strong interest in joining a startup and realizing Atlas’s mission;
  • Ambitious, self-directed, but knows when to pause and seek assistance; and
  • U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or other U.S. work authorization (please specify details in your application. Atlas does not offer sponsorship for permanent residency).

Compensation:  

  • Annual salary of $60,000 – $75,000
  • Expected 10% of salary contributed to a pre-tax retirement account
  • Annual profit-sharing bonus between estimated 5% and 25%, based on employee and company performance
  • Fully-covered platinum health insurance plan along with dental and vision insurance for employee and children
