The United States' transition to electric vehicles (EVs) is expected to bring customer choice, energy independence, healthier communities, critical emission reductions, and new, accessible jobs. Done right, it can also increase grid reliability and reduce electricity costs for all. Electric utilities play a pivotal role in unlocking these benefits. Around the country, states are compelling their utilities to streamline interconnection processes and plan ahead to help ensure EV uptake benefits all Americans. Some utilities are also leading the way.
