Two years ago today, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) was passed. On this anniversary, Atlas and CHARGE present a statewide case study on how IIJA, the Inflation Reduction Act, and other sources of state and federal funding are paving a path towards electrification for medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) zero-emission trucking in Texas. The brief details the importance of trucking for the Texan economy, the social and environmental impacts of its economic importance, and both public- and private-led efforts to speed the deployment of electric and hydrogen fuel cell MDHD trucks.
